“玉颗珊珊下月轮，殿前拾得露华新。”临近中秋佳节，新华公学国际融合部全体小学生用特殊的方式迎接中秋·国庆双节。

Approaching the holiday, all pupils from International Integration Department at Xinhua Academy used a special way to welcome this year's Mid-Autumn · National Day double festival.

9月28日，学生们纷纷拿起毛笔或彩笔，在纸扇扇面上赋诗作画。在语文老师、艺术老师的指导下，他们将与中秋有关的诗歌一笔一划认真地抄写在扇面上，再根据诗歌内容用毛笔、彩笔创作中秋元素的图形、画面。

On September 28, students picked up brushes and color pens to write poems and draw pictures on paper fans. Under the guidance of their Chinese teachers and their art teacher, they carefully copied Mid-Autumn Festival related poems, which they learned and researched before, on their fans. After that, they started to add drawings and scenes connected to the content of their chosen poem.

只见扇面上月大如盘，晶黄剔透;玉兔或在树枝上、或躲在树丛中赏月嬉戏;嫦娥仙气飘飘，美丽动人;远处还有祥云卷卷、福星高照;天边甚至下起了月饼雨，生动有趣。艺术老师用毛笔轻轻一勾，水墨枝头、丹桂飘香跃然纸上。

On the paper fan, the moon is as big as a transparent plate, shining bright like a yellow crystal. Yu rabbit is hiding in the tree or sitting on the branches, enjoying the moon light and having fun. The moon goddess Chang’e looks pretty with an immortal spirit. In the distance, there are auspicious clouds rolling and lucky stars shining. The sky even begins to rain moon cakes. The art teacher gently adds brush strokes. Ink branches and red laurel fragrance float on the paper.

扇面上还书写着不同的诗句：

“满月飞明镜，归心折大刀。”

“此夜若无月，一年虚过秋。”

“能变人间世，翛然是玉京。”

“明月几时有?把酒问青天。不知天上宫阙，今夕是何年?”

这些诗句是喜爱，是哲理，是乐趣，更是浓浓的思念。

There are also different verses from different poems written on the fan. These verses express thoughts about love, philosophy and sarcasm, but also show deeper thinking skills.

此次中秋活动探究课在浓郁的创作氛围中落下帷幕，我们旨在锻炼学生的创意思维与协作能力，这也是新华公学IB课程理念的独特教学手法，培养学生跨学科全面发展。The inquiry class of Mid-Autumn Festival activity came to an end in a strong creative atmosphere. We aim to train students' creative thinking and collaboration ability, which is also the unique teaching method of IB curriculum of Xinhua Acedamy, and to cultivate students' interdisciplinary and all-round development.
