日前，IB国际文凭组织官方研讨会首次在安徽召开，在研讨会中，合肥新华公学融合部小学三年级IB官方探究成果展示活动精彩亮相。活动现场氛围热烈、秩序井然，学子们以中英双语倾情呈现探究成果，生动解读地球地貌变化奥秘，凭借扎实的探究素养与自信的表达风采，赢得莅临观摩交流的教育同仁一致高度好评。

Following the IB Inquiry Path, Uncovering the Secrets of Landform Evolution ——Grade 3 UOI Exhibition of Inquiry Achievements Successfully Held by the Integrated Department of Xinhua Academy. During the seminar, the official IB inquiry achievement exhibition of Grade 3 from the Integrated Department of Xinhua Academy proceeded smoothly.

本次UOI探究以世界如何运作为核心主题，紧扣地球的物理面貌不断变化中心概念，严格遵循IB六大探究循环体系有序推进学习全过程。从导入激趣，学生观察校园周边自然景象、提出地质好奇问题;到搜集信息，通过科普视频、科学绘本、地貌模型认知山地、平原、火山等多样地形与自然作用力;再到整理信息，以思维导图、知识图表梳理知识脉络、厘清猜想与事实;继而深入探究，借助流水侵蚀、火山喷发等模拟实验与彩泥地貌模型制作，深度理解地壳运动、风力搬运等地质原理;随后总结反思，归纳地球面貌渐变与突变的客观规律;最终采取行动，以展板、模型、宣讲等形式科普知识、践行爱护地球的理念，完整诠释IB以探究为核心的教育内涵。

The event featured a vibrant atmosphere and well-organized order. The third-grade students presented their inquiry outcomes in both Chinese and English, vividly interpreting the mysteries of Earth’s landform changes. With solid inquiry competencies and confident presentation skills, they won unanimous high praise from visiting educators attending the event for observation and exchange. Centering on the transdisciplinary theme of How the World Works, this UOI inquiry focused on the central concept that Earth’s physical surface is constantly changing. The entire learning process was systematically carried out in strict accordance with IB’s six-stage inquiry cycle. Starting with engagement to spark curiosity, students observed natural landscapes around the campus and raised intriguing questions about geology. In the stage of information gathering, they explored diverse landforms including mountains, plains and volcanoes as well as natural forces through popular science videos, science picture books and landform models. During information sorting, they organized knowledge frameworks, distinguished hypotheses from facts via mind maps and knowledge charts. In-depth inquiry followed: through simulation experiments such as water erosion and volcanic eruptions, alongside handcrafted clay landform models, students gained profound insights into geological principles including crustal movement and wind transportation. Subsequently, they completed summarization and reflection, concluding the objective laws of gradual and abrupt changes in Earth’s surface. Finally, taking action, they popularized geological knowledge through display boards, physical models and on-site presentations, and practiced the concept of protecting the Earth. The whole process fully embodied the core educational philosophy of IB, which centers on inquiry-based learning.

展示现场，同学们精神昂扬、从容大方，用流利标准的中英双语细致讲解探究历程、分享实验发现与学习感悟。精巧的地貌模型、清晰的知识展板、鲜活的探究心得，充分展现融合部学子卓越的双语能力、自主探究精神与科学实践素养。来访教师认真聆听、积极互动，对学生的探究成果、综合表现及学校IB融合教育成效给予充分认可与高度赞誉。

At the exhibition venue, the students stood in high spirits and presented themselves with poise. They elaborated on their inquiry journey, experimental discoveries and learning reflections in fluent and standard bilingual Chinese and English. Exquisite landform models, well-structured information display boards and vivid learning reflections fully demonstrated the outstanding bilingual proficiency, independent inquiry spirit and scientific practical competence of students from the Integrated Department. Visiting teachers listened attentively and engaged in active interactions, fully acknowledging and highly commending the students’ achievements, overall performance, as well as the fruitful outcomes of the school’s integrated IB education.

The International Integration PYP of Hefei Xinhua Academy has long been dedicated to IB education.
